Christmas Tree Festival
Friday 29th November to Sunday 15th December
St John's Church, Stamford
It's getting that time of year when we will be organising our annual Christmas Tree Festival in St John's Church.
It is a chance for local schools, organisations, charities and groups to purchase a Christmas Tree and decorate it to promote their cause.
This year the Festival will be held from Friday 29th November till Sunday 15th December and will be officially opened on Friday 29th November by characters from the Pantomime Players at 10:00 a.m.
During the event the Church will be open during the Cards for Good Causes opening times and is free to enter. Donations would be gratefully received and all proceeds will be split equally between Stamford and District Lions chosen charity, The Churches Conservation Trust and All Saint's Church.
We have once again chosen Second Helping Community Café at Barn Hill Methodist Church because of the excellent work they do, which is something very close to the Lions' ethos of feeding the hungry and helping the poor. We also hate to see waste and admire the way that Second Helpings save so much food from going to landfill.
If anyone is interested in purchasing a tree and decorating it please get in touch using the contact details on this site. Trees cost £13.50 and at the end of the festival can be taken away or left at the church so that the public can take them for a donation.
Come along and join in or just come and admire the sight of these beautiful trees in the fabulous surrounding of St. John's Church.
