Santa's Grotto
2021
We hosted Santa in our Grotto again this year, as part of Stamford's Christmas Market. Santa said that he missed coming to see all the lovely people in Stamford last year and hoped that you had all been safe and well throughout this dreadful pandemic, it was a terrible time for everyone.
Stamford and District Lions built the Grotto so that children could visit Santa, have a chat and receive an early present.
Mrs Claus and some of his elves accompanied him on his trip from Lapland, North Pole
The Grotto was situated in Broad Street, outside Browne's Hospital, as usual.
Santa arrived in Red Lion Square at 10:00 a.m. and was accompanied, on his walk to the Grotto, by Stamford Town Crier, Stamford Pantomime Players (singing carols on the way) and some of Santa's elves.
He had a very busy day but did manage to see quite a lot of children and everyone seemed to have a great time.
Santa left Stamford that evening exhausted but very happy and said that he looked forward to coming back again next year.
Because of the pandemic we had to have some safety measures
in place
Covid-19 Measures
As we have limited space in the Grotto, and Santa and his elf are waiting for you, we need to be mindful of numbers entering
